In the construction of aircrafts clamping pins have become the norm. They are a viable option since they allow large parts to be quickly and easily loaded and unloaded. One of the design developments was focused on the leaf spring and tackles its durability. The improvement allowed the spring to be used more often while reducing the chances of it becoming loose.
Another point focused on in the design improvements is the flexibility of the components. The improved design featured a more mobile pin that is secured to the collar. With this improvement, the workers in the Aerospace Fabrication can change the length of the shaft allowing him to find a better fit based on the jig plate’s depth.
